family vacation

I'm so excited and grateful to be going on vacation with my family. Two precious weeks together adventuring through a country in the middle of political turmoil where we don't speak the language. :) Oh, wait. My parents have been studying up on Greek. So we'll be fine.

I'm really looking forward to days running around archaeological sites, beaches, and through the mountains, and nights playing games and laughing about the silliness of the day. It's great to get to see a new place, one I've wanted to see for a long time. At one point, we considered canceling the trip on account of the unrest. At first I freaked out, unable to handle the uncertainty of not knowing where we would be going in a week and a half. Then I got some perspective and realized that wherever we are, being with my family is going to be great.

By the way, I have a sister! You have no idea how awesome she is. In fact, I realize how awesome she is more and more each day.

We're getting close like you wouldn't believe. Or like I wouldn't believe. We talked three times on Thursday. [I don't talk to anyone except BDF three times a day.] I could call her anytime to talk about anything, and I totally love it. I'm going to miss her while we're on vacation.

Bottom line: I'm really aware of how grateful I am for family.
