eh hem....
Dear family and friends,
Just thought I'd share the results of some reflecting over the past month and a half... really the last two days is when it's crystallized.
Higher ed admin is the place for me, at least for the next 15 years. It's amazing that I actually know what I want to be when I grow up -- Dean of Students. where? not sure yet. I'll have to do some research about good places to work.
after 15 years, I'll reevaluate... currently the post-Dean-of-Students-plan is to bone up my math to be an actuary and make beaucoups $, then invest that in a neighborhood coffee/tea/sandwich shop that I'll work at part time until retirement.
Just thought you should know!
Yes, work is good. Yes, the school year hasn't started yet. And I'm committed to this work.
I'll leave you with some thoughts from 'Abdu'l-Baha:
"In the Baha'i Cause arts, sciences and all crafts are counted as worship. The man who makes a piece of notepaper to the best of his ability, conscientiously, concentrating all his forces on perfecting it, is giving praise to God. Briefly, all effort and exertion put forth by man from the fullness of his heart is worship, if it is prompted by the highest motives and the will to do service to humanity. This is worship: to serve mankind and to minister to the needs of the people. Service is prayer."
(Baha'u'llah and the New Era, p. 79)

I know the blog hasn't seen a lot of action recently. You could infer that nothing has hit home, but I wouldn't do that. I'd go with that life has been exhausting and wonderful, and I haven't taken the time to write about it until now. I know I owe the follow up to the last post. what a cliff-hanger, huh?
